Ashley Butler
Ashley holds a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and extensive experience starting and running programs and events. She continuously works to develop intentional relationships and spaces for mothers and families to connect. She accomplished this through her International Moms Connection group where she designed a group that created a space where the common language of motherhood was shared through play groups, potlucks, and learning about each individual’s culture. Additionally, she has experience homeschooling various stages of development. She has worked in partnership with her husband to develop their own homeschool co-op, Decent Learners.
Ashley Butler came to the We Play Center as a parent looking to engage her third child and was impressed by the intentional nature, inviting culture, and resources that the We Play Center provided. During the height of the pandemic, she worked in partnership with Training Grounds to create the New Parent Support Group, which consisted of pregnant women, parents, and caregivers who were looking for support during the shutdown. She developed curriculum, facilitated small group discussions, and worked in collaboration with social service providers to enhance the participants’ tool kits.
Ashley can be found holding strangers’ babies, singing or painting and engaging her family- her husband of 16 years and her children ages 15, 14, 6, and 3 years old. Ashley can be reached at ashley@mytraininggrounds.org.
